The Kano State Police Command has arrested one Ukasha Muhammed and a quack physician after a botched abortion led to the demise of his pregnant 19-year-old girlfriend in Tofa Native Authorities Space of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a press release on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, stated the quack physician, Chidera Ugwu, administered injections and medicines to Amina Balarabe, with intent to trigger miscarriage.
In response to the PPRO, investigations revealed that Chidera Ugwu, has been administering deadly injections to pregnant ladies.
“On 20/12/2023 at about 1030hrs, report was obtained from one Nura Balarabe, ‘m’, of Tofa LGA Kano that one Ukasha Muhammed, aged 19 years, ‘m’, of Langel Village Tofa LGA Kano Impregnated his sister, Amina Balarabe, aged 19 years, ‘f’ of Kwanar Mahuwa Tofa LGA Kano and the stated Ukasha Muhammad conspired with one Chidera Ugwu, aged 24 years, ‘m’ of Lanbum Banki Tofa LGA Kano and administered injections and medicines to the stated Amina Balarabe with intent to trigger miscarriage which resulted to her demise,” the assertion learn.
