The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a truck loaded with over 24,000 bottles of varied alcoholic drinks confiscated from smugglers at midnight.
The board’s Director Common, Alhaji Abba Sufi, disclosed this on Wednesday on the board’s headquarters whereas inspecting the truck confiscated from smugglers alongside Zaria Street on Tuesday evening.
“The truck containing over 24,000 bottles of varied alcoholic drinks was confiscated from smugglers alongside Zaria Street at midnight,” Sufi stated.
He famous that the Hisbah personnel within the state have been proactive in implementing a zero-tolerance coverage towards the smuggling of beer and different intoxicating substances into the state by its neighbouring state borders.
The DG counseled the Hisbah personnel for collaborating with stakeholders within the campaign towards beer smuggling into the state, in step with the state’s adoption of the Sharia.
In his remarks, the appearing Assistant Commander Common, Clever Crimes Dispatch Unit of the board, Fu’advert Dorayi, stated the truck driver and two others have been additionally apprehended.
Dorayi expressed gratitude for the assist from Dawakin Kudu Hisbah Command and different residents, urging folks to report any autos carrying suspected merchandise alongside particular routes, together with Kano/Zaria Street, Kano-Gwarzo-Dayi Street, Kano-Katsina Street, Kano-Maiduguri Street, and Kano-Hadejia Street.
