The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Monday, distributed palliatives to patients on admission in government hospitals across the state.
The state Commissioner for Information, Halilu Dantiye, in a press statement by the Director, Special Duties, Sania Abba Ypla, disclosed that 2,213 (10kg) bags of rice and 2,213 (10kg) sacks of maize were distributed to patients on admission in General and Cottage Hospitals, Pediatric and Specialist Hospitals across the state.
Dantiye, who supervised the distribution of the food items to each patient admitted at the Infectious Disease Hospital and Abubakar Imam Urology Centre on behalf of the governor, said the initiative was aimed at providing essential support to those in need during these difficult times.
The commissioner stated that in recognition of the importance of ensuring the welfare of all citizens, Yusuf’s administration prioritised the initiative that directly impact the lives of people in the state, particularly those with health challenges.
The commissioner expressed delight over the happiness of the patients, who benefited from the governor’s gesture and re-emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, especially during illness.
“We are dedicated to providing assistance wherever it is needed most. Our efforts today represent a collective commitment to standing behind our fellow citizens in support during their times of need. By providing essential food items to hospital patients, we aim to alleviate some of the burdens they face and offer them a measure of comfort,” Dantiye said.
