The immediate-past member of the Abia State House of Assembly who represented Bende North Constituency, Chukwu Chijioke, has taken a swipe at Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and the ex-minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uchechukwu Ogah, over the lingering leadership crisis ravaging the Abia chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This comes against the recent statement by Senator Orji Kalu who represents Abia North in the Senate, wherein he cautioned party leaders to desist from creating factions in Abia State.
According to the ex-state governor, there is no faction in Abia APC and no one has the right to call for APC meeting that is not chaired by the state chairman of the party.
Kalu was reacting to a meeting of Abia APC stakeholders held at the weekend in Umuahia by the factional leadership of the party loyal to the former Minister, Ogah.
Chijioke, in a statement directed at Kalu on Tuesday, accused him and Ogah of destroying the party in the build-up to the just concluded 2023 elections in Abia State.
He said in the statement, “As one of the party leaders in the state and as a major stakeholder, I am surprised that it took the intervention of NEC of the party as stated in the video for you to know who the state party chairman is, which has never been in doubt but you chose to destroy the party during the 2023 elections.
“You could not even win your polling unit for the party during the governorship and State House of Assembly elections. President Tinubu could not even win in your polling unit. You conspired with Uche Sampson Ogah, took sitting members to court. Members who fought and stood with the party to destroy the party. God will judge you.
“You can best be described as a mentor without mentee. Goodluck, if you have repented sir, please restitute. God will show you mercy. Good to see you again sir. We still miss you a lot “
