Dr. Usman Mazadu, the Executive Secretary of Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), announced that 289,375 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from 551 communities will benefit from the state government’s palliatives.
This is as the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe who was represented by her Chief of Staff, Barrister James Kanyip, assured that, the Governor Uba Sani-led administration will not rest until the threat of banditry is eradicated.
He made this announcement during the commencement of palliative distribution to IDPs at Maraban Kajuru, Kajuru local government on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mazadu emphasized that these figures were not just numerical data, but rather they represented real lives, aspirations, and the resilient spirit of the affected individuals.
“In Chikun, we have 134 affected communities and 26,345 displaced individuals. In Birnin Gwari, 84 affected communities and 70,893 displaced, and in numerous other communities across 12 other local governments.”
However said “We are here to initiate a significant undertaking, the flag-off of the distribution of relief materials to our brothers and sisters who have been displaced by the unfortunate events that have befallen some communities in our dear state.

“This distribution of palliative is not just an act of aid; it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to the SUSTAIN Agenda of our visionary leader, the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Uba Sani which is a comprehensive blueprint for the safety, security, and prosperity of our people.
“Ladies and gentlemen, at this juncture, let us take a moment to reflect on the numbers that have brought us to these crossroads: – 551 affected communities. -289,375 displaced persons are recorded across 12 Local Government Areas.
“Therefore the need for support is critical. Our empathetic Governor has answered the call and has factored this very important population into his N11.4 billion palliative program. We appreciate His Excellency immensely!
“In the few coming weeks, we shall on behalf of His Excellency extend this distribution to all the affected communities in the 12 Local Governments identified,” he state.
Flagging off the distribution, the Deputy Governor said Governor Sani understands the pains and sufferings that have been caused by these unfortunate events of insecurity, and he is committed to providing aid, succour, and support to those who have been affected.
“Under his leadership, the Kaduna State Government is dedicated to addressing the needs of our citizens and bringing an end to the current security situation. The consignment of palliatives to be distributed here comprised two trucks of high-quality, hygienically processed maize flour and rice.
“To all residents of our State, be rest assured that the State Government is determined to create a safe and prosperous environment for all and will not rest until the threat of banditry is eradicated,” the Deputy Governor said.
