The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara State Council has celebrated the appointment of its treasurer, Jamilu Sani Kogo, as District Head by the Emir of Tsafe in the state.
The Zamfara State NUJ treasurer, Jamilu Sani Kogo, who works with Legacy Newspaper, a state-owned publishing company, was turbaned as District Head of Tsafe South and also Magajin Garin Tsafe III on Saturday in the state.
In his remarks shortly after the turbaning ceremony, the 18th Emir of Tsafe, Alhaji Muhammad Bawa, urged the newly appointed Magajin Garin Tsafe III to lead his people with the fear of God, compassion, and to attract initiatives that will bring development and progress to his domain, Tsafe Emirate, and Zamfara State.
Also speaking, NUJ North West Zonal Secretary Abdulrazak Bello Kaura and Zamfara State NUJ Chairman Ibrahim Musa Maizare described the newly appointed District Head as a humble, gentle, and trustworthy journalist.
“Our council treasurer, Jamilu Sani Kogo, is a hardworking journalist who has always dedicated himself to the service of humanity. He deserves the honour, and we appreciate the foresight of Tsafe Emirate for giving him the title,” they stated.
The turbaning ceremony was attended by many dignitaries, including NUJ Secretary Zone A, Abdulrazak Bello Kaura; Chairman NUJ Zamfara State, Ibrahim Musa Maizare; Secretary, Comrade Ibrahim Ahmad Gada; and members of Zamfara State Correspondents Chapel.
