Moses Jituboh, former Aide-de-Camp to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan is dead, a source told The PUNCH late on Friday.
Jituboh died on Friday at the age of 54 years after a brief illness, the source stated.
“Yes, your information is correct. I can confirm that he (Moses Jituboh) is dead. I just got off the phone with a community chief.
“Efforts are currently ongoing to carry out an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death,” the source said.
Jituboh was Jonathan’s ADC while he was governor of Bayelsa State and as Vice President.
He remained in Jonathan’s security team when he became President.
After the 2015 presidential election which Jonathan lost, he returned to his police duty and was, at a point, touted to be appointed Inspector General of Police, but lost out.
Meanwhile, the Zone 16 Police Command has commiserated with the Jituboh family and Bayelsans over the death of the former Deputy Inspector-General.
A statement by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, on Saturday said the AIG Zone 16, Adebola Hamzat, “expresses condolence to the immediate family and the good people of Bayelsa state over the death of Bayelsa Born DIG Moses Ambakina Jituboh, mni.”
The statement added, “He was enlisted into the Police Force on the 10th of June 1994 as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.”

“The passing of DIG Moses Ambakina Jituboh is a great loss, not only to the immediate family but to the entire Bayelsa State, Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large.
