No fewer than 18 bandits met thier waterloo on Tuesday in Wase local government area of Plateau State as Joint Security Operatives swoop on thier hideout and neutralised them while holding a meeting in the area.
A highly dependable source told Nigerian Tribune that the bandits who have been terrorising the council area were attacked by security men who have been keeping vigil in the area since the last unfortunate incident at Zurak community in the area where fifteen people were killed and many other wounded by the bandits.
A youth leader in Wase, Shapi’i Sambo who confirmed the incident, statef that the criminals were killed in a combined operation involving security operatives and Vigilantes, who tracked the bandits to their hideout.

He explained that the bandits were attacked while they were holding meeting in their hideout.
“The incident occurred around 11 am while they were holding a meeting in the area. It was a coordinated efforts by security operatives and vigilantes from Wase and neighboring communities of Taraba state.”
Another youth leader in the Wase, Abdullahi Usman, who also confirmed the incident, said, “The bandits gathered in one place when suddenly, the security personnel and the vigilantes stormed the area. They had been targeted since after the recent attack on the market in the area. Based on credible information, they were confronted at one location. Their accomplices were also tracked down and killed.
However, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Alabo Alfred could not be reached over the development.
