The Jigawa State Government has inaugurated the State’s Livestock Reforms Implementation Committee to drive the transformation of the state’s livestock sector in the state.
This move is in line with the National Livestock Reforms agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chaired by Governor Umar Namadi, the 17-member committee is tasked with delivering practical and impactful reforms in the sector.
In his remarks at the occassion, the Governor remarked that,
“The livestock sector holds immense potential for our state. It is not only a vital source of food and livelihood for our people but also a significant contributor to our state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), exceeding 30%.
“Recognizing this critical sector’s importance, this administration is determined to unlock its full potential through a comprehensive and sustainable reform agenda.” he added.
He called on members of the committee to develop actionable, locally tailored plans for the implementation of the livestock reform agenda in Jigawa State.
“We must carefully analyze the specific needs and challenges of our livestock sector, adapt national strategies to our unique context, and develop innovative solutions that will benefit all stakeholders,” he said
“Let us work together to ensure that Jigawa State becomes a model for successful livestock development in Nigeria, demonstrating our unwavering support for the Renewed Hope agenda and our commitment to building a prosperous and sustainable future for our people.” he concluded.
