The Lead Visioner, Lagos4Lagos Movement, and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as JANDOR, has condoled with Christians, especially Catholic faithful in Lagos State and around the world, on the death of Pope Francis at the age of 88.

Pope Francis was the first Latin American leader of the Roman Catholic Church. He had a 12 12-year papacy, from March 13, 2013, to April 21, 2025. The Vatican announced his death in a video statement on Monday.

Adediran, in a statement by his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, described the late pontiff as a global symbol of humility, peace, and unwavering compassion, whose leadership transcended religious boundaries and touched lives across all walks of life.

“The passing of Pope Francis is a profound loss, not only to the Catholic Church but to the entire world. His legacy of inclusion, mercy, and tireless advocacy for the poor and vulnerable will forever be remembered.

“I stand in solidarity with the Catholic community in Lagos State during this time of mourning,” he said.

Adediran, a 2023 governorship candidate in Lagos, enjoined all Lagosians to honour the memory of Pope Francis by continuing to uphold the values of love, tolerance, and unity in their communities.
