The Israeli military announced on Friday that it has killed senior Hamas official Izz al-Din Kassab in an airstrike targeting his vehicle in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip.
Kassab, reportedly one of the last remaining high-ranking Hamas members involved in coordinating regional alliances, was killed alongside fellow Hamas official Ayman Ayesh.
Hamas issued a statement mourning Kassab’s death, though sources within the organization clarified that Kassab was not part of its political leadership, according to Reuters.
Arogidigba Global Journal reported in October that Israeli forces had killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar during an operation in Gaza, though official confirmation of Sinwar’s death has not been finalized.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, in a post on social media, vowed to continue targeting terrorist leaders, stating, “We will reach every terrorist — and eliminate him”.
Graphic images circulating online allegedly show Sinwar’s body, intensifying speculation about his death.
