A member federal House of Representatives, Abdulmalik Zubairu, representing Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency in Zamfara state has assured to provide more dividends of democracy to his constituents, saying he would remain a servant of his constituents.
Zubairu who was speaking during his first town hall meeting with his constituents at Bungudu town disclosed that over 500 students of his constituency were given scholarships to study at various high institutions across the country.
The town hall meeting was organised by the legislator’s constituency office in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation, “Community Sustainable Initiative” in the state.
Zubairu appreciated his constituents for their continued support of his representation as a federal lawmaker, he assured them that provide more dividends of democracy to improve their livelihoods in the state.
“I will continue to bring more developmental programmes to my constituents who send me as their representative, I remain your servant and I will continue to protect your interest as I’m now clock year.”
According to him, he presented 26 motions and bills in his one, which include the establishment of health institutions, and security among others for the benefit of his commitment to the state.
It was gathered that Zubairu has also paid the medical bills of over 500 patients with different illnesses in the state, in addition to payment of over N16 million naira fertiliser subsidy to his constituents.
Earlier on, the executive director of the community sustainable initiative Lukman Majidadi collaborator of the first town hall meeting of the lawmakers said the program will further bring the constituents and lawmakers closer.
Also speaking, the Zamfara state Chairman coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) Ibrahim Tudu has called on the lawmaker to collaborate with his colleagues at the National Assembly to seek through and pass the North West Development Commission Bill for the benefit of the region.
Those who spoke at the meeting included the Emir of Bungudu represented by the senior district head of Bungudu, Emir of Maru represented by Yusuf Ibrahim Naumma, Emir of Kwatarkwashi represented by the district head of Samawa Alhaji Ahmed Labbo and the Emir of Dansadau represented by Tafidan Dangulbi, Mattawalen Dansadau Alhaji Salisu Dangulbi.
