The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun on Tuesday decorated 39 newly promoted senior officers comprising 20 Assistant Inspectors General of Police and 19 Commissioners of Police.
The new AIGs are; Fasuba Olabode, CP Special Fraud Unit, Force Headquarters; Musibau Ajani, CP Admin, FCID; Aliyu Musa, CP Katsina State Command; Patrick Atayero, former CP Explosive Ordinance Disposal EOD; Force Headquarters, CP Anti Fraud section FCID, Director of Sports Nigeria Police Force and Deputy Commissioner Finance and Administration Force Headquarters; Gyogon Grimah, CP Cross Rivers State Command and Olaiya Mobolaji, CP Kwara State Command.
Among the new AIGs include Chukwudi Ariekpere, CP Taraba State Command and Commandant Police College Oji River; Abubakar Aliyu, CP Fom, Force Headquarters; Olalolu Adegbite, CP Interpol FCID; Godwin Eze, CP SEB, FCID Annex Lagos; and Disu Rilwan, CP Federal Capital Territory.
Others are, Alausa Tolani, CP Admin PAB, Force Headquarters; Kareem Musa; CP Interpol Annex, Lagos; Mohammed Shehu Dalijan; CP Zamfara state Command; Dan-Mamman Shawulu; CP Niger State Command; Clement Robert; CP SERVICOM R&PForce Headquarters; Musa Mohammed; CP Bauchi State Command; Thomas Nabhoni; Office of the National Security Adviser; CP Abel Jangnap Miri Zwalchir ICT. Force Headquarters and CP Ifeanyi Uka, Cp Works, Force Headquarters, former Head of Projects and Equipment at the Nigeria Police Trust Fund; AGM Project and later Ag. MD/CEO of the Nigeria Police Force Property Development and Construction Company limited.
The 19 Deputy Commissioners of Police decorated to the next rank of Commissioners of Police are; Usman Tahir, DCP R&P Force Headquarters, Sunday J.A. Okoebor; DCP Admin and Finance Force Headquarters; Ayodeji Faniyan; DCP Zonal CID, Zone 5, Benin; Saka Adewale Ajao; DCP Zonal CID, Zone 2, Lagos; Omole Ola, DCP PSFU, Lagos and Hope Urunwa Okafor, Deputy Force Provost, Force Headquarters, former Deputy Commissioner Administration, Osun State, Area Commander, K, Morogbo, Badagri and ACP Admin, Plateau State Command.
Others are; Ajo Geofrey Ordue; DCP DFA, Zone 17 Akure; Olufunke Adeayo; DC Pensions Force Headquarters; Ogunbode; Stephen Olubunmi Ogedengbe; DCP X squad, FCID Force Headquarters; Iyabode Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja; DCP SCID, Oyo State Command; Adebowale Lawal; DCP State CID, Enugu State Command; Ojo Adekimi DCP Operations Kwara state Command, and Yemi John Oyeniyi, DCP DFA, Ondo state Command.
Speaking at the colorful ceremony held at Goodluck Jonathan Peace Keeping Hall , Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja, IGP Egbetokun charged the newly promoted officers to embrace Operational efficiency and to imbibe spirit of accountability in their day-to-day activities in order to bring the Force to the greater heights.
According to him, correlate, the newly promoted officers, I want to however remind you that every promotion comes with increased responsibility. It calls for elevated conduct.
“It’s a solemn duty to lead, inspire, and uphold the highest standards of integrity. As the officers, your leadership will directly shape the moral of those on your command and determine the quality of policing of our nation. As you take on these new roads, I urge you to lead by example, set a standard for discipline, ethics, and dedication.
IGP Egbetokun urged them to take decisive decisions and act decisively against misconduct and ensure fairness in all their dealings, and embrace accountability
He expressed profound appreciation to the Police Service Commission for ensuring that promotions in the police force are no longer delayed.
He further commented on President Bola Tinubu for his steadfast commitment to his better equipped and more efficient police force, saying that the President’s leadership had been instrumental in the reforms and progress being witnessed in the Force.
The IGP said that the officers’ promotion to new ranks is an additional responsibility that would help in ensuring a safer country for all citizenry, which the Nigeria Police Force keeps working towards in accordance with the rule of law.
