Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has blasted President Bola Tinubu that if presidency shoes are too big for him, he can step aside as he has failed to address insecurity in the country.
He stated this in a post on his official X handle, on Tuesday, 30th January, 2023.
Atiku said this in reaction to the recent surge in the kidnapping and killing of unsuspecting citizens across the nation, as Tinubu seems detached from the nation’s woes.
He stated that the Commander-in-Chief is on a private visit, leaving citizens to bear the brunt of kidnappings and tragic incidents.
He recalled that recently, in Abuja, kidnappers took the lives of a nursing mother and grandmother because they couldn’t pay a demanded N90 million ransom. In Ekiti, two monarchs also fell victim to the growing insecurity.
Atiku further said that he should step aside if the current leader can’t handle the responsibilities, as Nigeria doesn’t need a leader who appears sporadically; the country needs someone committed 24/7 to address the security issues and the failing economy.
