Vice President, Kashim Shettima and the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday attended the funeral prayer of former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde at the national mosque in Abuja.
The National Security Advisor, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, and the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Finitri, were also in attendance.
On Sunday, the former EFCC boss passed away at the age of 61 in Egypt while undergoing medical treatment.
He reportedly died around 3.00am. local time in Cairo, Egypt, three days after undergoing surgery.
Lamorde was the third Executive Chairman of the anti-graft agency.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1962, in Mubi, Adamawa, and attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology in 1984.
He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1986 and retired as a Deputy Inspector-General of Police.
