Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has expressed assurance that he will continue to sponsor qualified students from the state for higher studies abroad.
Jibrin disclosed this on Saturday during a farewell ceremony organised for 70 students travelling abroad for their postgraduate studies in different fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics Engineering, among others.
“I will continue to identify and sponsor qualified students of the state origin for Master’s degrees, irrespective of their economic, social status, or political inclinations,” Jibrin said.
He charged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the state and the country during their studies abroad, enjoining them to work hard to justify the sponsorship.
In his remarks, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Abbas, appreciated the Senator for the gesture, adding that the scholarship would further develop the beneficiaries for their own good, the good of the state, and the country.
The event featured the presentation of a package to the students containing their travel documents, laptop computers, and hijabs for the female ones among them.
