Aides to former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have mocked Abia North Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu over his latest comments on President Bola Tinubu.
Kalu said Tinubu drives around Abuja at night in a bid to understand the suffering of residents.
Describing Tinubu as a street person, Kalu said the President is aware of Nigeria’s fluttering economy.
Speaking on Thursday, the former Abia governor said: “The President himself knows that Nigerians are suffering and hungry. He is a street person; he knows the street very well.
“The President some nights uses his car to go around and know what is happening in Abuja here.
“The President goes around with one or two cars and sees what is happening. He is not a President that is locked up in the room.”
Reacting, Atiku’s spokesman, Paul Ibe mocked Kalu in an X post, saying: “Yes, I saw Tinubu in Jabi garage last night. He came down from an armoured Keke NAPEP to buy kose and kunu. #TPain #ISightedTinubu #TalesByMoonlight.
On his part, Atiku’s Special Assistant, Phrank Shaibu, posted: “Guess even the big shots need their local street snack fix! #TinubuInTheStreets #KekeRoyalty”
