The former governor of Kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello said he is committed to national unity and the successful mediation between Northern and Southern, food transporters to prevent a major crisis in the country.
The former governor spoke against the backdrop of allegation that he was the sponsor of the ongoing #EndbadgovernanceinNigerian protest, saying that those circulating information about this are not telling Nigerians the truth.
In a state by The Yahaya Bello Media Office, the former governor alleged that there are certain adverseness whose aim is to tanish his image and orchestrate campaign to label in a sponsor of the nationwide demonstration.
The statement signed by Ohiare Michael also highlights Bello’s role in challenging the Naira Redesign Policy and his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 Presidential elections.
Further, the statement accuses enemies of the former governor of linking him to criminal interests and warns the public against believing his claims. It calls for a thorough investigation by the Police, Department of State Services, and other relevant agencies to address the allegations.
The office reiterates Bello’s dedication to supporting President Tinubu’s administration and maintaining Nigeria’s democratic integrity. It urges the public to disregard the falsehoods and support the President’s efforts to restore national greatness.
The statement concludes by affirming confidence in Nigeria’s security agencies to handle the matter effectively and affirming Bello’s commitment to the country’s progress and stability.
