Hunters have rescued Galadima Danladi Tau, the district head of Lau town in Ardo-Kola local government area of Taraba State, from kidnappers.
Arogidigba Global Journal learnt that the kidnappers stormed the palace of the district head in the night on Saturday and abducted the traditional ruler.
Responding to the alarm raised following the abduction, local hunters were said to have mobilized and tracked down the kidnappers to their hideout, where a confrontation ensued, with the hunters managing to overpower the criminals, securing the safe release of the traditional ruler.
However, Galadima Danladi Tau sustained injuries during the ordeal.
After the rescue, Arogidigba Global Journal also learnt that the kidnappers launched a retaliatory attack on the town.
Yet, the hunters repelled the assault in a fierce encounter that ensued for several hours.
Nuhu Tau, a resident of the town, recounted that Lau and neighboring villages have been plagued by banditry in the past.
The successful defense against the attackers was attributed to the collaborative efforts of hunters and vigilantes who have effectively cleared the area of bandits.
To further enhance security measures, soldiers have been deployed to the region to reinforce safety and stability.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman in Taraba State, Usman Abdullahi, assured that normalcy has been restored to the area.
