Hamas has firmly rejected a proposal by U.S. President Donald Trump to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Egypt and Jordan, denouncing it as an effort to undermine the Palestinian cause and force its people into displacement.
In a statement released on Monday, Hamas described the plan as an “aggressive scheme” that disregards Palestinians’ historical and national rights.
The group reaffirmed its stance that Palestinians remain committed to their homeland despite decades of conflict and displacement.
“The Palestinian people will not accept any plan that seeks to uproot or displace them,” the statement read, as reported by Xinhua News Agency.
Hamas also criticized the United States for its continued support of Israeli policies, which it claims violate Palestinian rights.
The group urged Arab and Islamic nations, particularly Egypt and Jordan, to reject the relocation proposal and instead focus on aiding Palestinians in rebuilding Gaza and ensuring their right to remain on their land.
This development comes amid heightened tensions in the region, as debates over the future of Gaza and the Palestinian territories remain unresolved.
