One week, after a suicide bombing killed over 30 civilians in Gwoza, troops of Operation Hadin Kai North-East launched a counteroffensive against terrorist enclaves in Jango 1, 2, and 3, Arra, Bula Dalo, Ari Kanumbu, Bula Ali, and Mallam Modu Commander.
Sunday Tribune learned that the operation, supported by the Air Task Force, resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition on Saturday.
The troops also neutralised 4 Boko Haram terrorists in a raid on their Sambisa Forest enclaves.
While most terrorists fled before the troops’ arrival, soldiers engaged another group at Garin Bayero, forcing them to flee due to superior firepower.
The recovered weapons and ammunition include 80 rounds of 7.62mm x 54 metal links, 2 FN rifle magazines, and 2 G3 rifle magazines (unserviced). Several terrorists escaped with bullet wounds.
This operation marks a significant milestone in the fight against Boko Haram, demonstrating the military’s determination to dislodge terrorists and restore security to affected communities.
