Popular Nigerian poet and writer Chika Jones said the Labour Party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has agreed to pay the debt owed by his wife, Ify Aniebo.
Jones disclosed this in an update post through his X account on Tuesday.
The development comes barely hours after Jones accused GRV’s wife, Aniebo, of refusing to pay for the service rendered to her firm, Afroscientric.
In an update to the matter, Jones said: “GRV reached out and arranged a call a few minutes ago. GRV, his media manager, me, and the mediator were on the call.
“GRV said he wanted the matter resolved and would pay the money before today ends.
“I said no problem, but I asked why his wife refused to pay me. The reason given was that she felt unhappy with the work I had done.
“I made it clear that it was both a lie and a wicked thing to say, and there, the matter closed.
“I will be expecting my payment as promised, and once I receive it I will update this thread with a screenshot.”
Arogidigba Global Journal recalls that the Supreme Court affirmed the election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Governor of Lagos State weeks ago as Justice Garba Lawal, who read the lead judgement, dismissed the appeal filed by the Labour Party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
