The Director General of Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) in Ondo state, Olumuyiwa Asagunla, has stressed the need to reawake the political consciousness of Nigerians, educate, orientate and intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure participation in politics.
Asagunla stated this during the inauguration of the group dedicated to the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Okeagbe in Akoko North West local government area of Ondo state at the weekend.
Speaking during the inauguration of the executive of the group, Asagunla described the inauguration of the group in the state as a step towards grassroots mobilisation for future election of APC candidates in the state and the nation at large.
He said: “The major aim of the group is to reawaken the political consciousness of every citizen and also mobilize support at the grassroots for APC at all levels.”
According to him, the target of the group is to ensure that Nigerians are updated promptly and consistently about the activities and success recorded so far by the Renewed Hope government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He disclosed that the group will be inaugurated across the 36 states of the country with the support of the Convener and National leader of the group, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Hon.Minister of Interior.
He said, “So far, our leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has started so well with his Renewed Hope Agenda. His conscious effort to bring the economy back to life is evident in the recent strengthening of the Naira.
“We should understand that Rome wasn’t built in a day but President Tinubu has started well. Our national leader, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who is the Minister of Interior has brought new innovations to the Ministry of Interior in Nigeria and in Diaspora.
” Nigerians can now obtain passports anywhere in the world without the usual restraints observed in the past”
The newly inaugurated Coordinator of the group in the local government area, Otunba Kali Afe described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a performer who is ready to develop the country through some of the policies introduced so far.
He commended Tinubu for his brave decisions to ensure Nigerians are rescued from the strong grip of corruption.
He said, “the group will continue to give our President the necessary support at the grassroots to ensure he continues his drive to renew the hope of Nigerians.”
Also present at the inauguration were party leaders from the local government including Erelu Ajonibode, Otunba Oriki, Hon. Segun Akeju, Hon.Bawa, Hon Esan Owolabi, Hon.Ojo Akeju among others, representatives of Itesiwaju Akoko, National Youth Council, Akoko Northwest youth leaders among others
