The North East Unity Forum (NEUF) has come out in strong defence of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, criticising Presidential Aide Sunday Dare for berating the governor’s comments on the state of the nation.
According to NEUF in a statement, Governor Mohammed’s credentials and track record of public service make him uniquely qualified to comment on matters of public concern.
The governor has worked as a public servant for nearly 30 years, serving as FCT Minister, Senator, and now Executive Governor of Bauchi State.
NEUF Chairman Comrade Yusuf Umar argued that Dare lacks the qualifications and experience to comment on public concerns, having failed in previous roles.
Umar emphasised that Governor Mohammed has spoken out against the controversial Tax Reform Bill, which he believes will harm Northern Nigeria.
The forum accused the presidential administration of implementing policies that have led to widespread suffering, hunger, and death among Nigerians. They warned that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government will face consequences in the 2027 elections if they do not change course.
Governor Mohammed has received support from various groups, including the APC North-East Youth Awareness Forum, which endorsed his presidential ambitions in 2023.
The North East Unity Forum reiterated their support for Governor Mohammed, praising his accomplishments in uplifting the masses of Bauchi State.
