The Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed sorrow over the death of former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lt. General Jeremiah Timbut Useni
He described his passing as a monumental loss to the nation.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf extended his condolences to the government and people of Plateau State, as well as General Useni’s family.
The former minister passed away on Thursday, at the age of 82, after a prolonged illness.
“Lt. General Jeremiah Useni was a true patriot whose life was defined by service, courage, and an enduring commitment to the betterment of Nigeria,” Governor Yusuf said.
He highlighted the late general’s distinguished career in the Nigerian Armed Forces, his unwavering patriotism, and his significant contributions to national security and governance.
Governor Yusuf also praised General Useni’s relentless dedication to fostering peace and security, particularly in Northern Nigeria and his home state of Plateau.
“His tireless efforts to promote harmony and progress will continue to inspire generations to come,” the Governor added.
The Governor prayed for the repose of General Useni’s soul and urged his family and the people of Plateau State to take comfort in the remarkable legacy of a life well-lived.
