The Taraba state governor, Agbu Kefas has approved the sum of one billion naira for gratuity payments.
Governor Agbu Kefas has taken a significant step towards honoring the commitment of public servants by approving the allocation of one billion naira to clear the longstanding backlog of gratuities.
This marks the first such disbursement since 2011, signaling a profound recognition of the sacrifices made by the state’s workers.
Expressing his determination to prioritize the welfare of civil servants, Governor Kefas emphasized the urgency of settling the overdue entitlements. He directed the Ministry of Finance to expedite the process and ensure that the payments were promptly disbursed.
Governor Kefas acknowledged the regrettable delays in addressing these financial obligations but affirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to supporting those who have diligently served the state. In addition to the initial allocation, he further sanctioned a monthly provision of 200 million naira to reduce the backlog and sustain ongoing payments steadily.
