The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians, encouraging them to embrace the values of love, peace, and goodwill that define the season.
In a statement issued on Christmas Eve, by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, Fintiri described the celebration of Jesus Christ’s birth as a symbol of hope and salvation for a world in need of redemption. He urged citizens to reflect on the virtues exemplified by Christ and to practice kindness and love toward one another.
“It is with great joy that I send this message of goodwill during the Christmas season,” the governor stated.
“Christmas is a time to rejoice and commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, which carries profound messages of love, selflessness, and empathy: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’ and ‘Do unto others as you would have them do to you.’”
Fintiri also highlighted the importance of introspection and renewal, urging Christians to re-dedicate themselves to their faith and foster a fresh relationship with God. He emphasized that the true spirit of Christmas lies in peace, love, and goodwill to all.
Acknowledging the economic challenges facing the nation, the governor called on citizens to remain united and supportive of the state’s development efforts. He assured the people of Adamawa that his administration remains committed to sustainable progress and inclusive growth.
“My vision for Adamawa State is centered around repositioning the state and taking it to greater heights,” he said. “No one will be left behind, and nothing will be left untouched as we strengthen social cohesion and confer dignity and pride upon our people.”
Gov. Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering a better future for Adamawa State and expressed confidence that the best is yet to come.
