Immediate past Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Area Hon. (Barr.) Etetim Onuk has been commended for outstanding leadership and legacy projects in the LGA as he steps out of office after seven years of service to his people.
The State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno gave the commendation during the inauguration of the Traditional Rulers Council Multipurpose Hall built by the chairman, within his one year as the transition committee chairman of the Council.
The governor who was represented at the event by the state commissioner, Local Government and Chieftency Affairs, Hon. Frank Archibong, commended the immediate past administration in Itu, for what he described as; an impactful leadership style in serving his people for those seven years.
Eno advised the new chairman, Mr. Ubong Nkutt, to emulate the positive legacies of his predecessor and ensure continuity and more legacy protection for the good of the people.
Speaking, the Paramount Ruler of Itu, His Royal Majesty, Edet Akpan Inyang, expressed appreciation to the outgone chairman for the befitting Multipurpose Hall and called on the new chairman to carry his predecessor along in his government for maximum progress of the area.
Immediate past chairman of Itu LGA, Barr. Etetim Onuk, who spoke to our Correspondent expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for the grace to pull through successfully in those seven years.
He appreciated the state governor and people of Itu for their cooperation, which according to him, made it possible to serve the LGA better.
“I will say that I am fulfilled and I will continue to contribute my quota to the process and development of Itu LGA and Akwa Ibom State in general”. He stated.
The Multipurpose Traditional Rulers Council Hall has in it a Museum, and offices among other convinces and would serve as official quarters for the traditional rulers in the LGA.
