The Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu, has assured the people of the state that his administration will continue to prioritise their welfare.
The governor said the essence of governance is to prioritise the welfare of the citizenry.
The Governor made the assertion while inaugurating Justice Ladan Tsamiya road constructed by his administration.
He pledged to transform the capital city into a modern, functional city. “We are glad to be delivering this road, aside from this road we also retrofitted, remodelled, redesigned and rehabilitated other roads in the town, he said.
The Governor highlighted the strategic importance of the newly commissioned roads, noting their economic relevance as well as improved connectivity to the area.
He urged the people to pray for his administration to succeed, “I want to assure you that this administration would continue to provide more dividends of democracy to the citizenry.
“I also thank the former Governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Wamakko for his fatherly advice.
“This road contract was awarded to two indigenous companies at the cost of N513,682,217 and the contractors have done a good job by delivering at a stipulated time,” he added.
On his part, the chairman of the occasion and former Governor of old Sokoto State, Yayaha Abdulkarim, said with barely one year in office, Governor Aliyu has met the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state.
He further explained that he is proud to associate with the government, urging the people of the area to imbibe maintenance culture.
