The Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, has emphasized unity, highlighting the importance of solidarity and peaceful coexistence among the people of Cham Chiefdom and the state at large.
The SSG also stressed that communities living in peace stand to benefit significantly when they unite and align with government policies and programs.
Professor Njodi made this statement while receiving the newly elected National Executive members of the Cham Progressive Association (CPA), led by its Chairman, Marvin Kida, at the Government House, Gombe, on Tuesday.
He reiterated that Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s administration is committed to providing initiatives that enhance the lives and livelihoods of the state’s citizens.
Responding to the CPA Chairman’s request for the remodeling of the palace of the paramount ruler, the SSG directed that a formal written request be submitted for onward transmission to the Governor for consideration.
He revealed that the administration, through its joint project initiative, has already commenced the renovation and reconstruction of traditional rulers’ palaces in the northern and central parts of the state.
Regarding the completion of the road from Mona to Bambam and government assistance for “Chugoteh,” an annual traditional festival of the Cham people, the SSG advised the association to formalize the request so the State Government can appropriately assess the need to intervene.
