Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed sadness over the demise of Alhaji Haruna Bako, a former Marketing Manager of Ashaka Cement and erstwhile Chairman of Peugeot Automobile Nigeria, who passed away yesterday after a protracted illness.
Inuwa Yahaya paid tribute to the late elder statesman, acknowledging his impactful contributions to the industrial and economic growth of the state and his commitment to community development.
“Alhaji Haruna Bako’s demise is a huge loss not only to his immediate family and associates but to the entire Gombe State. He was a remarkable individual who left behind a legacy of excellence and service in both the corporate and community spheres,” the Governor stated.
The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying that Almighty Allah forgives the deceased’s shortcomings and grants him eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus.
Similarly, Inuwa Yahaya commiserated with the family of Alhaji Ibrahim Madugu over the death of Babayo Ibrahim Madugu, popularly known as Babi, who died in Kaduna on Thursday following a brief illness.
The Governor described the late Babi as a cherished son of Gombe whose humility, warmth, and commitment to the well-being of others earned him admiration from all quarters.
“Babi’s death is a painful loss to his family and friends, as well as to all of us who knew him. He was a kind-hearted and industrious individual whose memory will live on in the hearts of many,” the Governor said.
Inuwa Yahaya prayed for Almighty Allah to admit the deceased into Aljannat Firdaus and give the Madugu family the fortitude to bear the great loss, as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House Gombe.
