The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Gombe State has announced that 1,268 Batch A, Stream I corps members have successfully completed their one-year mandatory service, while 21 others are set to be remobilized for various offences.
The Gombe State Coordinator of NYSC, Chinwe Nwachukwu, disclosed this on Thursday during a low-key passing-out ceremony held at the zonal office.
“1,268 Batch A Stream I Corps members are passing out; those with disciplinary cases are 16 and 21 for remobilisation,” Nwachukwu stated.
She lauded the corps members for their commitment to nation-building and service.
“My dear compatriots of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream I service year, I heartily salute you for the successful completion of your sojourn in Gombe State for the one-year mandatory national service to the nation and humanity at large.”
Nwachukwu expressed pride in their accomplishments, emphasizing their contributions to the socio-economic development of their host communities in sectors such as education, health, and agriculture.
“You have truly become ambassadors of the Scheme in unity, peace, and progress,” she added.
Nwachukwu encouraged the corps members to apply the skills and knowledge acquired during the service year and to embrace the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme.
“Whether you decide to further your education, pursue a career, or start your own business, I am confident that you will make a difference in your respective fields,” she said.
