The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has identified the cause of Tuesday’s devastating fire at Idumota Market in the Lagos Island area.
This was posted on the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service X platform on Wednesday morning, 10th April, 2024.
According to officials, the fire erupted due to the refuelling of a generator and the unsafe storage of fuel in kegs at the penthouse of a three-building complex, which housed a chemical-laden printing shop.
Mrs Margaret Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the extent of the damage.
