Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has congratulated former Chairman of Punch Newspapers, Chief Ajibola Ogunsola on his 80th birthday anniversary, describing him as an unrepentant apostle of true federalism in the country.
The Yoruba generalissimo said this on Tuesday in his congratulatory message, copy of which was made available to newsmen, saying that the media as one of the strong advocates of true federalism, remained an epitome of the democratic struggle.
According to Iba Adams, Chief Ogunsola is equally a shining light and role model among media administrators, saying that as the chairman of Punch Newspapers, he brought a lot of innovations to the organization, making it a leading media outfit in Nigeria.

General Ibrahim Babangida shut Punch Newspapers severally, but rather than relenting, Punch stood tall in its objective reportage and also ran its editorials to press for justice, restructuring, devolution of power and remained consistent on the path of truth,” he said.
“Even though he was not a member of NADECO, Chief Ogunsola was consistent,” he added.
Speaking further, the Yoruba generalissimo said the celebrant was topnotch in setting a standard for Punch Newspapers, building a medium that promotes quality service to humanity, which foundation the media outfit had been sustaining till date.
Adams said Chief Ogunsola’s enduring legacy and footprints in the media world continue to be a reference point for the world to see.
