Requirements
To be eligible for the 2025 Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence Scholarship, applicants must:
- posses Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, physics and other relevant science and engineering majors, from a university accredited or recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE).
- have a minimum CGPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent.
- provide their completed degree certificates and official transcripts when submitting their application.
- Senior-level students can apply initially with a copy of their official transcript and expected graduation letter and upon admission must submit the official completed degree certificate and transcript.
- show proof of English language ability by providing valid TOEFL iBT and IELTS academic certificates (except if waived).
- Graduates wishing to undertake their Ph.D. should have a strong desire to contribute to science and humanity through cutting-edge research, scientific literature, and thought leadership.
- They may wish to pursue a career in academia or at a research institute.
- They must have obtained either of the following, from a university/universities accredited or recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE):
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degrees in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, physics and other relevant science and engineering majors.
- Students should have a strong background in both applied and theoretical aspects of Computer Science with a CGPA of at least 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent for both degrees.
- A valid and standard Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test certificate is mandatory for applicants applying with only a bachelor’s degree.

Application documents must either be in English, originally, or include legal English translations. Additionally, official academic documents should be stamped and signed by the university authorities.

- Official Bachelor’s degree transcript and degree certificate or expected graduation letter

- Referee recommendations (minimum of 3 for PhD applicants and 2 for MSc applicants)
- Research Statement (only for PhD applicants) (make sure to upload in pdf form)
- Statement of Purpose (make sure to upload in pdf form)
- Valid English language proficiency certificate (must meet the admission criteria and required upon admission)
- Valid GRE certificate (required only for PhD applicants without a masters degree)
- Valid passport copy
- Valid Pakistan national identity card copy (only for Pakistan nationals)
- Photo with white background
- Entrance exam (highly recommended but applicants may opt out from the exam)

- Valid passport copy with unified ID number
- UAE national service completion/exemption letter (only for UAE national males)
- Family book (or UAE national mother’s family book, if an Abnat Mwatnat applicant)

- UAE national mother’s valid passport copy (only for Abnat Mwatnat applicants)
- Valid UAE visa (only for non-GCC Abnat Mwatnat applicants)

Inquiries and requests emailed to the Admission team during the working hours (https://mbzuai.ac.ae/about/contact/) are processed based on the order of receipt and within a standard response timeframe of three business days. On the other hand, those received after working hours, on the weekends and during public holidays may take longer to be processed.
