The Chinese Government NPU Scholarships present fully funded opportunities to study at Northwestern Polytechnic University in China.
The Northwestern Polytechnic University Scholarship covers tuition, ¥3,500 living stipends per month, accommodation, and living stipends for international to study and conduct research in the Chinese university.
Requirements
To be considered for the Northwestern Polytechnic University Scholarships, you must:
- have a good physical and mental health (no infectious or contagious diseases and no physical or mental disorders that could interfere with regular study).
- be under 25 by September 1st, 2025 (Undergraduates).
- as of September 1st, 2025, applicants for master’s program must hold a bachelor’s degree.
- Applicants for the master’s program should be under 30 by September 1st, 2025.
- hold a high school diploma by September 1st, 2025.
- be competent in performing scientific research and maintain a good academic grade level. The requirement for previous academic grade level is an average score of 75% and above. NPU accepts international standardized tests such as SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB/GED or regional high school graduation examination. Applicants may provide other certificates as proof for academic performance.
- have Chinese or English language proficiency that meets the requirement.
- be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports.
Benefits
The Full Chinese Government NPU Scholarship covers;
- Tuition waiver.
- Accommodation: free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy.
- Stipend:
- Undergraduate students: CNY 2,500 per month;
- Master’s students/general scholars: CNY 3,000 per month;
- Doctoral students/senior scholars: CNY 3,500 per month.
- Comprehensive medical insurance

- Academic transcripts
- A Study Plan or Research Proposal (Postgraduates)
- Recommendation Letters
- Photocopy of Passport Photo Page
- Signed No Criminal Activity Certificate (in English or Chinese)
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy)
Method of Application
Applicants should choose one of the following two methods to apply for the scholarship.
Path I – Chinese University Program-via University.
Path II – Bilateral Program-Apply via Local Chinese Embassy.
- Applicants who meet the requirements are recommended to apply to the local government or Chinese Embassy first.
- Please contact the local relevant institutes or the Chinese Embassy to confirm the eligibility requirements, agency number, and program type for applying for the scholarship.
