The Rivers State Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Solsuema Osaro, has described the Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, Aaron Chukwuemeka, as an imposter posing to be the state chairman of IPAC.
Osaro, who is the Rivers State chairman of the Social Democratic Party, was reacting to the recent visit to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, led by the self-acclaimed IPAC state chairman, Chukwuemeka, and chairmen of some political parties in the state, including the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Tony Okocha.
The Chukwuemeka faction of IPAC had paid a visit to RSIEC to ascertain its level of preparation for the upcoming local government election.
The SDP chairman, in an interview with Arogidigba Global Journal, reiterated that he was duly appointed the state chairman of IPAC by the national after the executives led by former PDP chairman, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, were dissolved in 2023.
Osaro called for the resignation of Chukwuemeka as the state chairman of PDP for misleading the public.
He said, “I wish to state categorically that Mr. Aaron Chukwuemeka, the less than three acting PDP state chairman, is not the chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, Rivers State.
“I am the recognised IPAC chairman since July 26, 2023, when the national leadership of IPAC appointed me to fill the vacuum that was created upon the dissolution of the state executive of IPAC led by Ambassador Desmond Akawor.
“I want the general public to know that Mr. Chukwuemeka Aaron is an impostor. He is a political bandit on the highway of IPAC.
“He is not fit to be the chairman of PDP in Rivers State because he has lied to the public, he has deceived the party he is leading, and he has deceived the people of Rivers State.”
Arogidigba Global Journal had in 2023 sighted a letter from the national leadership of IPAC, confirming him as the new chairman of IPAC in the state, and the dissolution of the Akawor-led executives.
The Akawor-led executive was dissolved after it adopted a singular governorship candidate for the March 18, 2023, election.
