The Bennie Griffins Foundation has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to uplifting women and supporting families in Nigeria. The recently concluded Food Contest in Lagos State, held with the aim of empowering women to embrace the food business and achieve financial independence, is a testament.
From the contest, four remarkable women—Mrs. Udeaja, Mrs. Ajesebutu, Mrs. Abass and Mrs. Ajulo—emerged as the inspiring finalists of the contest. Their participation showcased not only their culinary creativity but also their entrepreneurial spirit, sending a strong message to women across Nigeria: with dedication and passion, financial independence is within reach.
The Convener, Bennie Griffins, passionately addressed the audience, saying, “I am immensely grateful to Almighty God for the grace to continue serving humanity. This vision is not mine alone—it is fueled by the unwavering support of all who believe in making a positive impact on the lives of others.”
She emphasized the importance of supporting women in becoming financially independent, noting that when women thrive, families and communities flourish.
The food contest served as more than just a competition. It was a celebration of talent, resilience, and the potential of women to contribute meaningfully to the economy through the food business. The event provided practical mentorship and resources to help participants kick-start or scale up their ventures.
Beyond empowering women, the Bennie Griffins Foundation took a bold step in addressing the challenges of inflation currently affecting many families globally. During the event, the Foundation donated several bags of food items, including rice, garri, and cash gifts, to indigent families.
These donations are part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to complement government initiatives in tackling the effects of global inflation on the most vulnerable. “Every act of kindness matters,” Bennie Griffins remarked, adding that “together, we can alleviate some of the burden on families and give them hope for a better tomorrow.”
The four finalists received recognition not just for their culinary skills but also for their courage in stepping into the entrepreneurial space. Each woman left the contest equipped with the tools and inspiration to grow their businesses, as well as prizes that will help them on their journey.
The Bennie Griffins Foundation’s Food Contest is more than an event; it’s a movement. It calls on women to recognize their potential, take charge of their futures, and contribute to their communities.
In her closing remarks, Bennie Griffins urged everyone to continue supporting initiatives that empower women and uplift society. “When we lift one another, we all rise. Let’s stand together for a better Nigeria, one step at a time,” she said.
As the applause faded and the event concluded, one thing was clear: the Bennie Griffins Foundation is not just changing lives—it is inspiring a generation of women to dream bigger and achieve more.
