The founder of, “The Second Chance Care Foundation”, and African Future Leadership Magazine, Ambassador Mark Idiahi, has said that Africa is currently at a crossroads.
Idiha in a statement to announce the 9th edition of its African Future Leadership Public Service and Entrepreneurship Conference and Award, said that the cry for transformational leadership is loud and clear, from the most uprising in Kenya to the protest in Nigeria.
He noted that the event is a clarion call for change that will birth transformation in the continent.
Idiahi further noted that Africa over the years has been a victim of poor narrative by the mainstream media as a dark continent, and promised that through this conference there will be hope to be able to retell Africa’s story.
The event which comes under the theme, “Africans For Africa: Resetting Africa’s Economy For Prosperity’’, is scheduled to hold on the 5th of October 2024, at Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
According to Idiahi, the annual program is aimed at celebrating the impact of exceptional leaders in the continent of Africa, and to also honour the outstanding achievements and contributions of organisations and innovators across the continent.
Idiahi who is also the convener, recalled that the event in the past eight years had recorded success stories of prominent individuals and brands through networking opportunities, business partnerships and charting a cause for the emergence of new and enviable Africa.
Expected guest speakers at the event include; CEO, Africa Private Sector Summit Dr. Lucy Surhyel Newman, Acting Director of Research and Studies, Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, (NIIA), and Chairperson, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Creative and Entertainment Sector, Dr. Ngozi Omambala, among others.
