First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu has condoled with Governors of Sokoto, Ahmed Aliyu and Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed following recent tragedies in their states.
A boat accident in the Dundaye community of Sokoto claimed at least four lives, with ongoing search efforts for one missing individual.
Meanwhile, flooding in Bauchi resulted in additional fatalities and significant property damage.
In a statement she personally signed, Mrs. Tinubu extended her thoughts and prayers to the affected families, urging divine comfort for their losses and strength to endure the hardships they face.
She said: “I extend my deepest condolences to the Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and the Bauchi State Governor, His Excellency Senator Bala Mohammed, CON on the recent occurencies in their States.
The boat mishap which claimed lives in Sokoto and the flooding incident which happened in Bauchi State where lives were also lost and property destroyed are very unfortunate.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones and properties, as well as those who have been displaced.
“May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace and May God comfort the affected families and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
