Nigerian entertainer Charly Boy has spoken out in defense of popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, who was recently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

It will be recalled that Bobrisky was arrested on April 3 for abusing the Nigerian Naira. He was arraigned in court on Friday, April 5, and pleaded guilty to the crime.

Following this, the court ruled that he be remanded in jail until April 9 for judgment. Unfortunately, the Eid Il Fitri celebration has caused the date to be moved forward.

Reacting to Bobrisky’s predicament, Charly Boy took to Twitter to criticize the EFCC for arresting the crossdresser when there are other culprits of the same offense in government.

He told them to find something better to do with their time and leave Bobrisky alone because he is not the problem of the country.

The 73-year-old singer tweeted,

“EFCC make una go find better work and leave Bobrisky alone I beg una.
Sake bcos e spray money?
Do you know how many, civil servants, ministers yahoo old men spraying money on a daily?

Bobrisky is not our problem since you guys are no moral police. Ur work na to retrieve stolen money from the criminal group of Politicians.

But I can see dat APC people are still using the tactics from dia old play book syndicated by Dia cash and carry influencers distracting the people with nonsense since dey can’t focus.

*This una New Electricity Tariff, who wan pay when we can barely eat?

Is dis how you people want to kill us by making great sacrifices for ur Owambe life style?
Una no go die better.
Nonsense
Dia fathers.”
