The Federal Government through the Ministry of Works, on Saturday, directed an immediate assessment of Section 111 of the flood-damaged Kano-Maiduguri Road.
The road, which was cut off by a recent flood in Bauchi state will be evaluated by a technical team from the ministry which would also be providing emergency solutions to ease the suffering of the Malori-Guskuri community.
The ministry, in a statement on Saturday, stated the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, during a meeting with contractors, stressed the need for timely completion of projects funded by the tax credit scheme and disclosed the termination of Section 1 of the Kano-Maiduguri Road contract with E Contractors due to time expiration.
The minister, who emphasised the importance of durability in road construction, called for greater commitment from all parties involved.
Umahi highlighted some ongoing projects under the tax credit scheme, including works by Dangote, BUA, and Mainstream Energy.
He urged patience from the public, assuring that the government is focused on delivering quality infrastructure to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.
