Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Youth Initiative Monitoring and Delivery, Titilope Gbadamosi has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to empowering Nigerian youths and providing them with an enabling environment to hone their skills, become self-reliant, and excel in addressing contemporary challenges.
The President’s aide stated this in a recent courtesy visit to the leadership of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), emphasising government’s dedication to fostering a conducive environment for Nigerian youths.
Gbadamosi who highlighted the importance of NADDC’s role in driving the economy through modern technology, underscored the Presidency’s keen interest in enhancing the skills of Nigerian youth, particularly in mechatronics, to bridge the gap between education and industry.
The collaboration, according to her aims to empower Nigerian youth to contribute significantly to the nation’s technological advancement.
Gbadamosi expressed the Presidency’s eagerness to collaborate with NADDC, acknowledging the Council’s recent achievements in training and equipping approximately 30,000 youths nationwide with necessary tools and certificates.
In response, the Director-General of NADDC, Osanipin, expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated the Council’s commitment to partnering with relevant stakeholders to position the local auto industry on a global scale.
Osanipin elaborated on the establishment of Automotive Training Centers (ATCs) across the six geopolitical zones, aimed at ensuring top-tier skill development and standard practices in Nigeria’s automotive sector.
He noted the significance of professional mechanics being trained in modern technology to enhance job provision, efficiency in vehicle repairs and maintenance, and overall safety for mechanics, vehicles, and the environment.
