The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, has pledged the federal government’s support to the government of Borno State in the endeavour to launch the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri on January 1, 2025.
She made the commitment after a stakeholders meeting convened by Governor Babagana Zulum, at the Government House in Maiduguri, Borno State, recently where she expressed FAAN’s commitment to deploying its to achieve the target date. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who was present at the meeting, directed FAAN to give all the necessary support to ensure the realisation of the project.
Kuku assured all parties that FAAN would not only meet but exceed the directives of the Minister, stressing that FAAN would ensure adherence to both local and international aviation regulations and provide comprehensive guidance and technical expertise to bring the airport project to fruition. She commended Governor Zulum for his determination, underscoring FAAN’s unwavering commitment to offering appropriate technical support to this commendable initiative.
She said the collective effort of the Borno State government, FAAN and all stakeholders stand as a testament to the power of collaboration and shared vision in driving progress and transformation.
