The former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Abdulrasheed Bawa has bagged the traditional title of Tafidan Jega, in Kebbi state.
He was bestowed with the title by the traditional ruler Sarkin Kabin Jega Alhaji Muhammadu Arzika.
The former EFCC chairman who was at the palace in the company of his uncle Alhaji Ibrahim Yahaya Bawa was conferred with their traditional titles by the monarch.
Bawa is now the Tafidan Jega while his uncle Alhaji Ibrahim Bawa, a former executive director of services of the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) was given the title of Chigari Jega.
Speaking when conferring the title of the duo, the traditional ruler Muhammadu Arzika who welcomed the former EFCC boss home after retirement from the anti-graft body assured him of the courtesies demanded of his traditional title and the cooperation of the people of Jega and environs.
He reminded him that as Tafida his task shall be to guide the initiation and timely completion of all development projects in the emirate and ensure they touch the lives of the people of the emirate in a positive light.
Arzika also assured him that he has his uncle, the Chigarin Jega as a reliable allay.
In their remarks, both Tafida Abdulrasheed and Chigari Ibrahim thanked the traditional ruler for the honour done to them and their entire family and assured him of unalloyed loyalty to him and members of the royal council.
