Evans Baroque Ltd., a leading pharmaceutical company operating in West Africa, has reaffirmed its commitment to excellence, saying it is “irrevocably committed to its mission.”
Evans Baroque gave the assurance in reaction to recent concerns about one of its products, Giga S, being adulterated by some unscrupulous elements and sold to unsuspecting members of the public.
The Managing Director/CEO of the company, Onyeka Onyeibor, said in a statement that “Evans Baroque remains irrevocably committed to its mission to serve Africa with quality products and services made readily accessible and affordable.”
Onyeibor said, “Our journey is guided by strong excellence, people, integrity, and courage (EPIC) values that define who we are and what we stand for.
“These values,” he added, “are the foundation of our operations and our commitment to a healthier Africa.”
Onyeibor distanced Evans Baroque Ltd. from the adulterated Giga S, saying, “Recently, there has been an incident involving one of our popular products, Giga S, known for its effectiveness.
“We regret to inform our valued customers and stakeholders that Giga S has not been in stock for some time, with the last batch expiring in September 2023 (Batch No.: IC21163006).
“It has come to our attention that a product (Giga S) with falsified expiration dates has appeared on the market, compromising the safety and trust of our consumers.
“Upon discovering this serious issue, we immediately reported it to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
“We are working closely with NAFDAC to ensure that these counterfeit products are swiftly removed from the market.
“NAFDAC has issued a press release warning the public about these falsified products. We strongly advise all our customers to heed this warning and refrain from purchasing Giga S from unauthorised sources,” Onyeibor added.
He assured the customers of the company that efforts were being made to address the situation and prevent future occurrences.
“We want to assure our customers that we are doing everything within our power to address this situation and prevent future occurrences.
“Our dedication to quality and excellence means that we will not rest until we have resolved this issue completely.
“We are also accelerating our efforts to restock Giga S and continue to ensure that all our products meet the highest safety and efficacy standards,” he stated.
The Managing Director/CEO of Evans Baroque Ltd., however, advised customers on what they can do to avoid the adulterated Giga S.
“What you can do. Verify the source. Only purchase your medications and products from authorised distributors and retailers.”
“Report suspicions: If you encounter any suspected Giga S with a falsified expiration date, immediately report it to NAFDAC and our customer service team.
“Stay informed: Follow NAFDAC updates and our communications for the latest information on product safety and availability,” he added.
He said the company could be contacted through +234 901 020 0000 and Email: [email protected].”
He also urged the public to stay connected with the company via Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn for the latest updates.
He thanked the customers and the general public for their continued support and trust in Evans Baroque Ltd.
“Together, we will overcome this challenge and continue our journey towards a healthier Africa with quality, accessible, and affordable products and services,” Onyeibor assured.
