Football pundit Gab Marcotti has suggested that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been playing Cole Palmer out of position this season.
Palmer has undoubtedly been Chelsea’s best player this term, but Marcotti believes he is being limited by Pochettino’s setup.
Speaking via ESPN, Marcotti feels the England international should be playing as a No. 10 and not wide on the right.
“What I would say about his numbers is there are a lot of penalties in there, and I also don’t think he has found his right position at Chelsea. It is not his fault, but when he plays wide on the right, he comes inside all the time, which is fine. Maybe he should be playing No. 10, but then that puts an onus on the right-back, who is Malo Gusto,” he said.
Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer.
