Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has slammed Manchester United following their Premier League 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Saturday.
Calvin Bassey put Fulham in front but Harry Maguire’s goal on the brink of stoppage time looked to have rescued a point for Man United.
However, Alex Iwobi restored the visitors’ lead at injury time and condemned the Red Devils to defeat at Old Trafford.
Speaking after the game, Merson said Erik ten Hag’s side were absolutely shocking.
“Man United were shocking, I’m not exaggerating. Absolutely shocking,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“You know, how they can think they can get in the top four. And what is the point of getting the top four anyway? Just to get into the Champions League.
“They are not going to win it. So what’s the point in being in it?”
