Enyimba FC have laid the groundwork for an ultramodern gym house at the stadium, to help the players keep fit.
The project which is handled by G&D Buildings and Engineering Limited, will be delivered within the next eight weeks. The contractor, Olayinka Alade spoke about what the company has done so far.
“We are doing a stable and firm structure that can stand the test of time. We have also modified the stormwater drains within the stadium. We have tried to create drainage. We’ve found a way we can preserve the structure.
We have already made deposits for treadmills. We also made sure that most of the equipment is such that it can work without electricity.”
There will be a reception for the players and others who come to the gym, in order to keep the structure in use. There will also be a locker room for the players to change their clothes.
According to Olayinka, the gym equipment will arrive soon. The substructure will be done within four weeks while the total work will last for an estimated time of eight weeks.
Also reacting, Enyimba FC Sporting Director and ex-international Ifeanyi Ekwueme described this as one out of the many laudable projects of the chairman Ambassador Kanu Nwankwo aimed at transforming the team and expressed satisfaction with the work done by the contractor.
