On Wednesday, Forum of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chairmen charged Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State to emulate the virtues of the ex-governor of the state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, by making responsive and qualitative governance his watchwords.
They also tasked Yusuf not to relent in his efforts to make Kano an exemplary model through the implementation of welfarist policies and infrastructure projects capable of making life better for the citizenry.
The forum, under the leadership of Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, gave the charge in Kano during a courtesy visit to the governor in his office.
They were received by the state’s deputy governor, Aminu Abdulassam Gwarzo, along with some commissioners and lawmakers, who lauded the forum for its interest in the socioeconomic development of Kano State.
While urging Yusuf to emulate Senator Kwankwaso, who, in spite of being a former governor in the state, remains relevant to the extent of using his goodwill and political clout to unseat the ruling party during the 2023 governorship election,
The forum reminded the governor that 2027 is around the corner for another election, contending that he should explore his exemplary leadership and good governance as a platform for future electoral success.
They, however, passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of the NNPP, stressing that the chairman of the NNPP in the state, Alhaji Hashim Suleiman Dungurawa, should deploy measures to boost the membership drive for the party with a view to making it more virile.
Responding, Kano state deputy governor, Gwarzo, appreciated the forum for their visit and show of love, assuring that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will continue to be a reference point among the community of state governors.
